Just wanted everyone to know what problems we are having with Gold’s Gym, so it doesn’t happen to anyone else. I am just going to say beware of Golds Gym. We are signed up in Conroe, TX. So anyway we were happy with the Gym after signing up. Then Olivia suggested I sign up with a personal trainer. So I talked to their personal trainer named Sean McWhorter. I told him I would like to sign up for a month, 2 times a week. I told him I had to wait till my tax return comes. So when my tax return came I talked to him again and he said if I do the 8 sessions I can get it for $320, plus with other fees it would come out to $370. So I did it, we had to go to the computer, he said I needed to sign on the computer pad, to say that I agree with the 8 sessions, another signature to debit the amount, and then lastly my initials saying that the 8 was none refundable. So ok, that’s it I am signed up for 8 sessions, that was on 2/16/2012. So, nothing was said about a contract so I wasn’t thinking anything about it. On 4/18/2012, I checked my March statement, which became available on 4/16/2012. I was charged 320 on 3/16/2012, so then I checked online banking and again charged 320 on 4/16/2012. What the hell. I called up the gym and asked for a manager. I was told he wasn’t there. So I talked with the sales manager. I told him I bought 8 sessions on 2/16/2012, and I was being charged monthly. He told me to wait. So I waited and then he said I signed a contract. I told him NO, I signed up for 8 sessions. He said I signed a contract for 8 sessions a month for a year. I said no I didn’t I was told only 8 sessions and that Sean had clicked off the reoccuring monthly charges, so I’d only be charged for that month. So, me and my wife went in to Gold’s Gym in Conroe, TX to see if the manager was really there or not. He wasn’t, talked to the same sales manager, and he said the same thing, that I signed up for a year. I again stated I only signed up for month, and that I didn’t have any contract. So, he disappeared and went to the printer. He gave me 2 pieces of paper, it was a contract with my signature. This is the FIRST TIME I ever saw this document. So anyway we left. I called the next day from work, and got their manager, RONNIE STARR, remember that name, don’t deal with him or this gym. He said I signed a contract but would talk to corporate about it. I got a call the same day from Ronnie saying that they couldn’t do anything about it because I signed a contract. I told him that the first time I saw a contract or even knew anything about a contract was on 4/18/2012 when we went in on the day we first complained. We requested they called Sean McWhorter to see what he said. They absolutely refused, saying he no longer works for the company and they can’t contact him. There is something going on when they won’t call the person that signed me up. So, now, I’m going through the BBB, which they are no help. They just relay the email’s between us and them back and forth, that’s it. Everything is at a stand still. So all I can do is warn everyone else. They are cheats and liers. Stay away from GOLDS GYM and from Ronnie Starr, or Sean McWhorter. CHEATS all CHEATS
So over the weekend we decided to go for some thai food . We ended up going to Thai Cottage . We originally tired Thai Cottage in Houston about couple months ago , it was not too far from The Galleria area where we stayed . We loved it , we went to Thai Cottage in Houston couple of times . Since we moved a little north of Houston , we found Thai Cottage also has a branch in The Woodlands area . We’ve been there couple times . And we like their food .
The place is located in the busy area , well The Woodlands area is always busy anyway . They have great deals for their lunch . Their menus are basically lots of curries , all kinds of them , noodle dish , such as Pad Thai , and some vegetarians , chicken stuff .. fried rice and they also have yummy dessert . When i go there , i always order one of their curry , my favourite was Panang Curry , although i like the red curry too . But Panang was the yummiest one in my opinion , you’d be surprised that it has peas !! I don’t like peas , but in Panang Curry you hardly taste the peas ! It also has chicken of course , green and red pepper , onion , i think that’s it . The sauce was really good and very rich and very coconuty , in other words , it’s just delicious . They served this with a bowl of rice .
My husband ordered Spicy fried rice , and it’s also good , it comes with carrots , onions , cucumber , and the choice of meat was chicken . We both liked it . The good thing about this restaurant too , you can adjust the spiciness to your taste too . They put number with 1 as the mildest and number 5 is the hottest .. as in can you handle it ?
We ordered both dish with spicy number 5 , i don’t think it’s out of the world spicy .. i can handle it still , maybe because i grew up in Asia ? And i loved spicy food .. but then again my husband who grew up in Chicago .. also thinks that he could go hotter than this . LOL ..
Prices for the dishes is not too bad about $10.00 in average for dinner and you could get it cheaper for lunch . The only complain i had the last time i went was .. the server wasn’t really paying attention , after giving us our drink , she just let us waited for the next 10-15 minutes , and we were ready to order too .. we even put the menus down , she kept going to the tables around us and like forgot about us . Luckily there was another server that paid attention to us and rushed and asked if we had ordered yet .
I’d still go back to Thai Cottage .. Although i like Pad Thai , but my meal choice in this place would be one of the Curry dish !!
A few weeks back , i decided to buy myself a 2nd food processor . We’re in the middle of relocating , and i’ve missed my food processor . I began to realize , other than having a standing mixer , food processor is something that really comes in handy when it comes for cooking , and baking activity . I was looking for something that is good , something within reasonable price . I could’ve gone to a $200.00 food processor , but heck i didn’t want to spend that much , and it’s not like i didn’t have one already . I do ! It’s just i wanted something that i can use while we’re in the middle of relocating .
I went to Bed and Bath Beyond , they didn’t have too many selection as i was hoping for . Probably there were only 4 or 5 of them , kitchenaid , cuisinart , and don’t quite remember what the rest was . I decided i wanted to get the kitchenaid , the price is pretty reasonable , considering it’s kitchenaid . So , although it has less capacity compared to my Hamilton Beach which holds 10 cups , the price is more expensive . It was about $99.99 , and i expected that this does a good job like my standing mixer Kitchenaid .
I picked the white one , it goes with anything , in case i decided to change the theme color for my kitchen . Not that i had any color to worry about right now anyway .
I have to say that it is really quiet With my Hamilton Beach , the whole room can hear it , the whole house can hear that i was chopping or grating something with the food processor . While this Kitchenaid , it is super quiet . I’ve used this food processor for grating cheese , making meatballs , and also making bread dough . The only complains i have , although it said that it’s 7 cups capacity , when i make bread dough , the machine gets overheated , and it stopped . I pulsed the dough and didn’t let it run non stop , i was surprised that it still gets overheated even with only 2-3 cups of flour . So i ended up having to finish the bread dough manually . The result for the bread is still good , but of course you can’t beat the result of baking the bread manually , or using the dough hook from standing mixer .
Even though i am not fully satisfy with the food processor ( for making bread dough ) , i think i can deal with it . Too bad that it costs that much , and didn’t really come to my expectation .
So , this afternoon , we decided to take our son , to see a movie . He’s been wanting to see Dr.Seuss ” Lorax ” , and we surprised him by taking him to this movie theatre . Being a new resident of this town , we thought , let’s check it out . It was located off I-45 on the west side , by somekind of a clinic . It was actually a little hidden .. wouldn’t know it was there if we didn’t really driving in the location itself .
First of all , we didn’t get out from the car , we saw the ticket booth , and we saw the informations what movies were playing , it only said ” playing now ” didn’t mention about the time . The times for the movies are shown on the ticket booth . And it was a little hard to see , esp. with orange and red color with black background , was a little hard to see during daylight ! We found out through our phone what time was the movie playing .
Got out of the car , there was a short line by the ticket booth . We chose the 4.20 pm show , the theatre was small . Compared to the theatres we used to go to in Schererville , Indiana , this one was small . And i thought the theatre in Hobart was small , this one was even smaller than in Hobart ! LOL ..
Bought some popcorn , and drink , as always , the price for a bag of popcorn and drink is just ridiculous . Almost $5.00 for a small soda !! Isn’t that ridiculous , we could always bought 2 litre of drinks for a little bit over $1.00 at the grocery store . But the concession booth at every theatre does have a very ridiculous prices . Maybe that’s how they make their money from .
We grabbed our snack and then we walked in and we thought it was odd . There was this strange smell that really bothered us . It was stinky , my husband thought the smell was like something wet , to me it’s like when the weather is humid and you’re by the garbage . It was just unpleasant smell that welcomed us to the movie threatre , i was very annoyed by it . Sat down and i grumbled to my son , he didn’t say too much about it , he was just happy we’re going to see Lorax , my husband agreed with me that it was smelly . Never in our life , went to a movie threatre that is stinky like this one . I guess after putting up with the smell for few minutes , your nose is adjusted to it . Not that the smell went away .. but like i said the nose got adjusted to it .
Lorax was an okay movie , i prefer the other Dr.Seuss ” Horton hears a who ” movie compared to this one . Lorax is funny here and there . I still like Horton movie . So , all and all , our experience in The Grand Theatre , Conroe , wasn’t so grand after all . Next time when we want to go see a movie , i would suggest some other theatre to check , not this one though . I am traumatized with the stinky smell . Not only that , the place itself looked clean when you stepped your foot in , but once you’re inside the theatre itself , it was dirty . I found it hard for me to find seats without seeing any popcorns laying all over the floor . We managed to get seats that are clean with clean floors , but most floors weren’t cleaned . In our experience watching a movie , i thought they always clean in between the show time , not just leaving drinks , popcorn all over the floor for the next show time
I definitely would not suggest you to go to The Grand Theatre , i would go somewhere else !!
Just when we thought everything is going to be okay since we got a buyer for our house in Indiana .. something else comes up .
So the potential buyer asking price was 187,000 , we’re asking for 195.000 , we negotiated to 190,000 , they agreed and they also asked for 3% for closing cost from us . We agreed to it . We calculated it and we can handle that , we estimated about 7k to 8k that we have to fork out from our pocket . Alright , that’s fine .
Then on friday morning ( we just got back from Indiana trip on thursday night btw , after 18 hours driving ) , that morning i got an email from the relocation company , called Lexicon Relocation , she said she finally got the final equity from the lender . So this final equity is the amount of money that we have to pay to Lexicon , since they’re taking over the house and they will be closing with the buyer before March 30th . Right now they’re going to close with us , in order to do that , we have to pay the final equity , since we are $2.000 short from the mortgage and also we are agree to pay 3% of the buyer’s closing cost . Wait .. that’s not only that , the final equity went up from 7k-8k , to 13k ! What the fuck
That’s exactly how i felt as i was reading her email ..
On the detail paper , it said , true , we have to pay 2k because we still owe 192k for the mortgage of our house . Since we sell 190k , so we are 2k short . I am aware of that . Then , 3% closing cost , which cost 5k . Alright , we’re also aware of that . What i am not aware of .. that Lake County Tax is 1 year behind !! So , while we’re paying the mortgage along with the tax , it was the previous year’s tax that we’re paying . Say we’re paying our mortgage on the year 2011 , we paid the mortgage along with the tax , little did we know , that the tax we’re paying , isn’t tax for 2011 ( like the mortgage of 2011 ) , it’s the tax for the 2010 !! So .. now that we’re selling it , we still need to pay the tax from 2011 , now is 2012 !! Oh .. i am so mad .. i am furious
So everyone in Lake County and Porter County in Indiana are 1 year behind . That’s why we ended up with having to pay $13.000 If you live in those county , like we did , and you want to sell your house , you better make sure you make at least 30k-50k from selling it , or else you wouldn’t even be able to sell it . The closing cost is already high enough , and yet we still have to pay for the taxes that we thought we paid already , instead we’re paying a year behind . It’s not our fault , but it’s the county’s fault .
Not only that , Lexicon Relocation doesn’t make our life any easier !! It’s been the worst relocation we ever been . We’ve moved state to state 2 times in the past , none of them were this bad . Grede was the company that hired Jay back in 2004 , and they were handling the relocation themselves and they did such a great job , finding us a place to live temporarily , in a studio apartment , paid our expenses , dining , gas , moving company , and travelling expenses and closing cost for our house . The 2nd time we moved , it was when Jay was hired by Arcelormittal , back in 2008 , they gave us a lump sum money , they gave us the money to find ourselves a place to live , for our food , expenses etc , on top of that they still paid for our closing cost for both houses , and also they paid for a moving company too . We didn’t lose money at all when we did that relocation , just as well as Grede too . Both companies did not hire a relocation company , they did it all themselves , nicely done , we’re happy , less stress , relocation was pretty easy .
Now , with this company Jay’s working , don’t get me wrong , Jay loves his job , and the company he’s working right now is pretty good . But , they HIRE relocation company , which is Lexicon Relocation . Since the beginning it’s been nothing but hell with them . Although they kept saying that they want to make us happy , because we’re already under enough stress with moving , they will help us to be less stress and be happy . HAPPY MY ASS .. that’s what i can say .
First .. they found us an apartment for us to live temporarily , it was in Galleria area , those expensive area in Houston . We knew nothing about it .. she just sent us email and showed us the link to the apartment , and since we knew nothing about Houston , we just okayed it .. and she booked the apartment for 1.5 months . Once we got there , we found out , that it takes 1.5 hours for Jay to go to his working place . True he has main office in the HQ downtown , which is 5 minutes away , but he works 99% of the time in north of Houston , which takes 45 minutes on a great day , but knowing Houston .. the traffic is just plain awful . He has to leave at 7.30 , to be at work at 9 . And everynight he got home at 6.30 or past 6.30 , after left work at 5 . This is the Lexicon Relocation chose for us to live .. The Montierra apartment .. that’s the one Lexicon chose for us , NOT US . It cost $4.200/month And it only has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and small kitchen . That’s it !!We didn’t even know it cost that much UNTIL .. early January , Jay tried to ask for an extension , because our house isn’t sold yet , we couldn’t get a house even if we like some houses . Lexicon said , no , you can’t , because your company declined it . What the hell ? Then .. if we can’t extend our stay , then where would we live ? We can’t afford to make 2 payments for a place for us to live . That’s when we found out that Montierra cost $4.200 !! Absolutely won’t be able to pay from our own pocket . Jay talked with the HR , explained the situation , that it took a month just to get our house ready to sell , because all the inspection by Lexicon was just ridiculous , i will explain about that later . Eventually the HR of the company where Jay works , gave us money , for us to find a place to live ourselves , they gave us 2,5k . I did research for apartment , in the town where Jay works , found one right away , which is 15 minutes from work , and that’s what we chose . Not bad area , apartment just fine , and it’s furnished , the money from the company paid for exactly 2 months of living in here . And that ended in february , a week before the month ended , we found a buyer for our house .
We were happy .. or .. so we thought everything was going to be okay . Well , not necessarily , now in order to sell that house , we have to close with Lexicon Relocation first , in order to close with them , we are required to pay 13k ASAP , that’s exactly what Lexicon said , do they really think we have ten thousands money stashed somewhere ? or do they think money grow on trees for us ??
Now , last week trip , to Indiana .. Jay chose to drive , because with driving he could bring some of his stuff that he wanted , and ones that the movers wouldn’t take . That’s why he chose to drive . Lexicon was supposed to reimbursed the trip , by the milage . Today we just found out , they couldn’t take the mileage that we gave for them . They only paid the milage according to the map . So , like in our case , our GPS gave us a different route , and they could care less about it . I guess if their direct map said 1000 miles , and our GPS ended up with 1130 miles , they wouldn’t care . Does it matter for us ? Hell it does matter for us , every mileage is supposed to be paid by them . Now Lexicon also said that they won’t reimburse overnight stay or meal expenses . So i guess they wanted Jay to drive 18 hours straight without staying overnight everywhere , and not reimbursing the meal expenses , while the movers werre busy packing away our belongings , we were supposed to be able to cook and eat at home ?? Is that it ?? LEXICON RELOCATION IS IMPOSSIBLE !
Oh .. did i mention the inspection that they did for our house ? Yeah , they hired US inspection , home inspector called Randall , he’s from Michigan City . He was awful .. he’s inspector from hell .. not that he did an awesome job . He was awful .. literally . He never took notes .. i doubt he knew what he was talking about . He asked for the roof to be replaced , okay that makes sense , since it’s 18 years old already . But then he said the skylight was leaking cos he saw moistures inside .. well what the hell .. We asked the roofer , the roof guy said just get the dehumidifer .. that solved it !!
Then he wanted us to replace the smoke detector , which worked perfectly fine , he said it was broke , well he put it on silent mode of course it didn’t make loud noise !! Stupid .. we had to replace that too .Then another thing about water heater and furnace .. there was nothing wrong with both but he said something .. so Jay had to have furnace people come to check it .. they said NOTHING WRONG , but we had to pay them $100 just to come by to see that there is nothing wrong with the items Then the sump pump he said it broke ! Well if it broke , doesn’t he think our basement would be flooded ? It’s been working just fine and he wanted us to replace it too ? Idiot ! Then also , the railings in the house by the stairs or the porch out back , it’s too wide and not safe . What the hell is he talking about ? The house was already built like this in 1995
Then the weep hole .. the house doesn’t have weep hole .. the house was built like this in 1995 and it’s been perfectly fine
Then the radon mitigation that we had to install .. we probably spent 800 bucks to get that installed . After all said and done , we had spent about 10k to satisfy Lexicon Relocation so that they can sell our house once they get a buyer . Oh don’t forget the 13k we have to pay to Lexicon too . So .. we’re going to be dead broke , don’t have any money left , which originally we saved so that we could pay the downpayment for the house we’re going to buy in Texas .
I am very mad , dissapointed ,disgusted , angry with how everything turns out , with how awful Lexicon Relocation handle our moving . Lexicon Relocation has turned our life upside down , we’re dead broke because of them
We stayed until Wednesday in Indiana . The movers , there were only 2 guys , they finished packing our belongings on the second day . On the third day which was leap day , wednesday , they loaded all of our stuff into the semi , and they finished about 4.30 , and left .
Monday night , we met Dewey and Lori , with Hunter too , we met them at Olive Garden . It’s been years since we went there , we actually only went there once , a long time ago , probably about 10 years ago .We like italians , except back then we didn’t think Olive Garden was that great and we never came back . But i had ordered chicken marsala , and it was wonderful , they were supposed to be served with potatoes , i asked if i could get Aglio Olio , but they didn’t get my order right , instead they gave me angel hair , which i requested , with garlic cream , which i didn’t request . I asked for olive oil with garlic angel hair . Oh well .. Dewey was surprised that i had ordered the chicken marsala , he said that it needed an acquire taste to really enjoy marsala , i told him , i make them myself quite a bit , and he said somehow there is a bitterness in chicken marsala . I said it all depends on the marsala wine , because that’s the main ingredients , that’s what the sauce made from , and if it’s a good marsala wine then you should enjoy it , but if it wasn’t the greatest , automatically your chicken marsala won’t taste as good . I let Lori took a bite and she said it was delicious , she always ordered the same thing over there , angel hair alfredo , i wasn’t much into cheese stuff , so alfredo never really tempted me anyway .
We had dinner , chatted , and i think it was almost 8 when we left Olive Garden , we said our byes . Then we headed home . On tuesday , i went to get my hair done . I made an appointment with Brittany once i knew that we will be in town , i needed her to get my hair done right . She did .. i colored it too , i asked for red , except the red was a little bit too dark , hardly able to see it without the sunlight . I’ll get it right myself next time . Then , that night too , since they already packed our flat screens ( they had to have specialist movers to do the packing for these flat screens ) , there were no more tv , nothing in the house , except for our bed and blankets and couple of towels and soaps . We met Rodney and Crystal that night , we had a chinese buffet for our dinner , and then went to their house , until about 10 .
Finally wednesday morning , it was time for the movers to load the boxes , they came about 8.30 , and Nick was so bored out of his mind , i sent him to Stella’s house for couple of hours . Then i took him to his old school to see his old friends and we met Ms.Moxey , who were pretty thrilled to see Nick , and she let us to go see Mrs.Berdine and her classroom . Nick was happy seeing his friends , and so did his friends . Didn’t stay long , and then i took him home , we went for lunch , and by the time it was 4.30 , the movers were done loading our boxes into the truck . The house became empty and so strange ..
I felt sad for a moment , i choked up and almost had tears in my eyes . The house had so many memories , great memories , happy memories , funny ones , and also sad ones too . It was a little overwhelming , thinking about we’re leaving this house , the house that we grow to love , but then again at the same time , i was really ready to let it go , and moving on and start a new chapter in life .
We left Indiana that evening , right after the movers left , we already said our goodbyes to our neighbours , and we drove home . I guess home is in Texas now , though it’s not really a house , but a home is where your loved ones are .. so as long as we’re together , be it in Texas , in Indiana or Kansas .. it is home . We would love to have a house soon , but i don’t think it’s going to happen . Since we lost a lot of money in the process of selling our house , the relocation company isn’t really helpful , there should be another long story about that , i will recap on that on my next entry . But anyway .. we drove about 6 hours , and we stayed the night in Cape Girardeau , Missouri . And resuming our trip the next morning , for our 12 hours driving , that was quite tiring . Kinda glad when we got to Texas .. and just couldn’t wait to get home . I was so tired last night , once i put my head on the pillow i was gone within seconds !
We’re back in Indiana , at least for few more days .
We started out our trip on friday night , we both had to pick up the car that we rent from Enterprise from the airport . The airport is located in Spring , which is about 40 minutes driving , but the traffic during rush hour going back to Conroe was awful . Anyway , we grabbed quick dinner at Chick Fil A , then we started our 1200 miles trip . Yikes ..
Tigger is coming with us , Jay drove for about 6 hours , we stopped to stay in a hotel and sleep at midnight . We stayed at Candlewood which we know they do accept pets . We slept for 6 hours , and resuming our trip the next day about 8.30 in the morning . Had a quick breakfast . We stayed in Texarkana , which is about few miles from Arkansas . It’s right on the border .
Driving through Arkansas right away that morning and it was a long boring drive , it took about 6 hours driving through AR , and the road wasn’t the greatest an the view was just ugly .. and didn’t really like it . Texas road was a lot better and nicer view too since there are lots of trees and evergreens in Texas .
Soon after lunch , we entered Missouri , it was pretty quick , and we crossed Mississippi River , one of the longest river in the US , and soon we entered Illinois . Illinois was also a long 6 hours driving too , Luckily we live really close to Illinois , so we’re pretty excited once we hit Illinois .
After 1200 miles ( give and take ) , about 18 hours of total driving , we finally got home , about 8.30 pm . So happy to be home , except when i took off my shoes , the floor felt so cold !! Well i understand that the weather was like 21 F ,( coming from 90 F the day before and now it was 21 , yuck ) , but then when i looked at the thermostat inside , it was 52 F I told Jay , and i guess when the buyer did the home inspection the day before .. something was tripped or .. whatever .. and luckily my Mr.Handy here , knew what to do . He reset the furnace and there it went .. heat is coming
The house warmed up really quick , plus we were having the fireplace going too .. We had Gelsasomo’s pizza for dinner , i quikly made myself my favourite earl grey tea .. and that night we relaxed and went to bed about midnight . Nick was in bed by 10.30 , he said he misses his bedroom so much
I was up by 7 the next morning , sunday morning , i went to grocery store and picked up milk and eggs , and bacon , made baked eggs with bacon for our breakfast . Then we went to say hi to our neighbour Stella , and that afternon , we went to Chesterton , i wanted to grab as much teas as i want !! I grabbed Jasmine Cherry Rose , and then also Earl Grey Tea and Wild Strawberry tea , we spent $24.00 for tea . We figured we might as well do this cos we won’t be coming back to this area for a long while.
Then we stopped by at Dewey and Lori’s house , we chit chat with them and stayed until about 4.30 . They asked us to stay for dinner but we had leftovers pizza and lunch stuff , so we thanked them but we couldn’t stay . Home and then we had our dinner , Jay took down all the stuff from the attic in the garage so that when the movers coming they can pack them right away . Then after dinner , i decided to make raisins butter cake , last baked goods from this kitchen . We gave it to Rodney who’s been a big help for us while we were away , he came by about 9.30 to pick up his fresh baked cake .
This morning , about 8.30 , 2 guys from the moving company arrived , they started getting things going , and i had to go pay the water bills , and then ran to pick up my written prescription , except my Obgyn , didn’t give me a written one , she called the pharmacist .. so i had to go there and asked if i can get it still once i get to Texas , since the insurance card and everything will be different , i can’t just do it here . They said they can . Then after that i had to run to Shoe Carnival , because the Jay’s shoes and Nick’s shoes were downstairs in the laundry room , and they ended up getting packed up too because well .. not their fault , Jay and Nick didn’t tell the movers anything . Anything that they see they will box it unless you said .. oh you can’t pack this up . I ended up buying those 2 new shoes .. Jay needed a new one anyway .. while Nick .. he didn’t need a new one ,, but lucky he got one .
I got back about 11.30 , and then about noon the movers went out for lunch , we did too . They’re very quick .. and very efficient . When i got back earlier , they’re all done with basement , family room , laundry room , play room , library , music room were all packed up . It looks so strange .. and it looks so bare . It’s not a nice and cozy house anymore . Feeling a lil bit sad too ..
One of them started doing the kitchen at 3 and he’s almost done and it’s 5 now .. if it were up to me .. it would have taken me days to do this . But these guys are pro .. well that’s what i think . I just found out one of them been working in this job for 12 years !! Wow .. they just left actually , it’s 5 pm . They’re done with garage , and downstairs , part of the kitchen is also done . Tomorrow they will be finished and i think they might load it too . There will be another moving company coming tomorrow , to pack up the flat screen tv’s we have , they have to be packed in certain way i guess .
We’re supposed to meet Lori and Dewey and Hunter tonight for dinner .. but Rodney , Jay’s friend also wants to meet us tonight , so we’ll see
I am so dead tired and all i want to do all day is sitting down now . I know that’s not likely to happen . I went to work out this morning , and i only worked on legs . Since i did running and chest back the other day , so today was only supposed to be legs and light cardio . I finished my leg workout within 1 hour , then i went on the treadmill to walk , and after 15 minutes , one of the personal trainer asked if i wanted to try the Rip 60 class if i have time . I said i have time , it’s just i don’t know if i wanted to do it ( considering i just burned 500 something calories working on legs only ) . But i went ahead anyway , i didn’t think too much else . So by the time i had finished the workout , i have burned 1200 calories , and worked out very close to 2 hours ! I was tired after the class , i think it’s because i’ve worked out for an hour before and then plus this . If i hadn’t worked out before i think i wouldn’t be too tired .. i knew i can handle this kind of class !!
Went to gas up the car too , i spent $50.00 for gas today .. my car is such a gas hog , luckily that everything is pretty close here , the gym is only 1 mile away , and Nick’s school is also about 1 mile away , from his school to the gym is about 2 miles , so i don’t have to gas up too often , it’s just when it’s time to do it .. it’s really takes about 15 gallons to fill it all the way up . Plus the gas has been going up over here too .. it’s about $3.45 here and i am sure back up there it’s probably pretty close to $4.00 !!
I went to the gym this morning . Took Nick to school and then went to work out . I ran first , i only did half an hour running , and i worked on weights for my chest and my back . Stopped at the grocery store , picked up pork shoulder , i am making BBQ pulled pork . And it’s going in the slow cooker .
By the time i got home it was probably 9.45 or 10 . I took Tigger for a run , we ran for 15 minutes , he did good for as little as he was . Oh and when i got home too , i saw the pepper flakes bottle was on the floor , it was on the dining table . Guess who’s been messing around with it ? Tigger Just like he did with candy , i am giving him another chance , if he did it again tomorrow .. checking on our dining table while we’re away . He will have to stay in the crate if that’s the case .
Met Jay for lunch , had pizza margherita for lunch , and signed all the paperwork needed to be sign for the house in Indiana . That way Jay can fax them back right away to the relocation people . The relocation company will take over the house right after we vacate the house . That’s why she needs all the paper worked signed in .
On the way home , i stopped at Nick’s school to let them know about him not being able to attend school next week . Then i also emailed his teacher about it .. hopefully she gets all the things done before friday , that way Nick can do it and submit back to her before next week . Jay also already booked a car for us , we’re going to drive up there .
I didn’t work out this morning . Nick has a day off , it’s a president’s day . Jay didn’t have the day off , had to go to work this morning . While me and Nick spent the morning at home , i cleaned up the kitchen , putting away few things , and mid morning we both went out . Went to bed bath and beyond , and bought myself a stainless steel 5 qt mixing bowl , a rolling pin and a pie plate , and also a nice paring knife . I spent about $40.00 which isn’t bad at all . Now i have 2 sets of rolling pins , and many many paring knives . ( the rest are at home ) .
When we got home , we had a korean lunch , i had some kimchi and stir fry anchovy , while Nick had seafood noodle .After lunch , i started making the sauce for my enchilada lasagna i am making tonight . And made pie crust for lemon meringue pie . Took about few hours to get everything done . Got my lemon curd ( hopefully i got it right .. not too sure with the pot i was using .. seems like for some reason it got burnt very easily on the bottom ) , and then made the meringue , and then finished with my pie , i made the lasagna . Enchilada Lasagna was wonderful .. tasty and super easy It’s a huge plus that i used dark meat from the chicken thighs leftovers i had .
I have been cooking almost everyday , more than normal . Jay’s working schedule is a normal working people’s schedule , so i cook basically every weekday , take a day or two off on the weekend . Or sometimes , when i am in the mood , i make a complicated dinner for weekend . Yesterday morning i made this baked eggs in ramekin , which turned out really yummy . The day before i made some bread , sweet bread with fillings and also raisins bread . I used my food processor to make them .Not too sure about it because i never made bread dough from food processor , i use my kitchenaid mixer , but since it’s at home .. i have to put up with food processor . To my surprised it worked just fine
Jay also called the relocation company , and also the moving company . Everything will be settled this week or beginning of next week at the latest as far as money wise . The relocation company will be taking over the house , and they will be the one closing on the house with the buyer . As far as for us , we’re going to have the movers come to pack and move our belongings . The date has already set for the 27th until the 29th . They’re going to take 2 days to pack all the belongings and will take 1 day to pack them into the semi . So we’re going to have to be there to supervise their packing our stuff and load them . Jay said we should be starting going up there this friday , because we’ll be driving . Thinking about driving because some of the stuff , the movers won’t do , such as perfumes , important documents etc ..
Tomorrow i will go to Nick’s school , to let them know about Nick won’t be coming to school for at least 3 or 4 days because of it . Well hopefully everything will go smoothly . It’s been over 4 years since we had a long road trip . It’ll be 18 hours driving to Chicago from Houston .. wow ..
